This position is located at Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital in Fort Polk, Louisiana.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Nurse (Administration/Ambulatory) you will:
- Assist with standardizing Disease Management across the patient care continuum.
- Conduct specific quality improvement (QI) studies to assist in process improvement related to population health.
- Apply epidemiological methods to describe the population and its risks, identifying and employing evidence-based interventions and managing information.
- Conduct population health and medical management program evaluation and feedback; interpret data and make evidence-based recommendations.
- Promote and optimize medical readiness of active-duty members.

Basic Requirements for Nurse (Administration/Ambulatory):
- Degree: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
- Licensure: A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.
- Foreign Degree:
Graduates of foreign nursing schools must complete the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools Certification Program and provide a CGFNS Certificate.
Exemption:
You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0610 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Documentation must be provided to the Human Resources Office to validate your status.
Additional Qualification Requirements:
- At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to GS-9 grade level or above) including comprehensive nursing care, data collection/ review, and patient or staff education.
- OR a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
