Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Grants Specialist.

The Grant Specialist will work collaboratively with Cell Biology faculty, research teams, central institutional departments and external stakeholders on managing a diverse portfolio of research projects and providing guidance on funding strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Submit RPPRs (assist PI with completion of RPPR in eRA Commons), prepare annual budget, submit continuation record in Research Navigator, coordinate final submission with Sponsored Research Administration (SPA).
  • Submit continuation record in Research Navigator and prepare documents for annual authorization of sponsored project.
  • Manage outbound/inbound subcontract communications and management (follow up on invoicing, request and review documents for RPPR submission, liaise with Contracts to ensure timely subcontract execution, provide documents to prime institution for RPPRs, request carry forward as required).
  • Edit PI biosketches and prepare Other Support documents according to NIH guidelines for RPPR submissions.
  • Prepare prior approval requests (effort reduction, foreign component requests, change in scope, carryover, etc.) and coordinate submission to sponsor with SPA.
  • Manage new award processes (review award notices, work with PI to revise budgets as needed, communicate with subcontracts, etc.).
  • Attend finance meetings with the PI to review financial status of accounts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and provide general support for grant submissions as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Health Administration or related field, with a minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience in an academic medical center, government or other significant health-related non-profit; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of policies and procedures to ensure research practices meet regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills to interact effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and strong ability to multi-task.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with management of NIH grants.

To view the Pay Transparency Notice, the salary range for this role is $64,350.00 - $75,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
