** The base pay scale for this position is $58.29 - $65.57. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.

** What you will be doing**###
** JOB DESCRIPTION
** 2 days per week
- Monday & Friday (Dayshift)
** YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
** 1 in Histotechnology
** PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
** Standing or sitting in the same location Standing or sitting in the same location; may require to stoop, climb or lift light material (10 lbs. or less) or equipment. Examples: programmers, receptionists, medical technologists, and dishwashers.
** ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
** Indoor area with frequent exposure Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise. Examples: patient care providers and laboratory technicians.
** HAZARDS OSHA
** Category 1 - plus Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials. Subject to electrical and radiant energy HAZARDS. Exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens.
** POSITION & UNIT

ACCOUNTABILITIES *
* * Contributes to high-quality, safe laboratory practices in service to patients.
* Handles and processes specimens, ensuring proper identification.
* Prepares specimens Cuts, stains, and mounts specimens of human tissue.
* Prepare tissue samples for analysis by embedding them in paraffin blocks.
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as microtomes and tissue processors.
* Cut thin sections of tissue using a microtome for microscopic study.
* Apply stains and dyes to tissue samples to enhance visibility under a microscope.
* Perform routine and special staining techniques according to standardized protocols.
* Assist pathologists and other laboratory personnel with diagnostic procedures.
* Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
* Follow all safety and infection control procedures in the laboratory.
* Prepare and manage tissue sample inventory and storage.
* Monitor quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with tissue preparation and staining processes.
* Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure seamless workflow.
** EDUCATION REQUIRED
** Associate Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technician or a related title. Associates Medical Technology    
** EDUCATION PREFERRED
