Position: Program Supervisor (Youth Act)
Location: New York

JCCA’s Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program serves youth ages 10–21 with significant psychiatric needs who are at risk of entering, or transitioning home from, inpatient or residential care. Using a multidisciplinary team approach, Youth ACT provides intensive, individualized interventions to support families, stabilize youth in the community, and prevent higher levels of care.

Services are youth-guided, family-driven, and developmentally appropriate—addressing emotional, behavioral, medical, and psychosocial needs across all life domains. The entire ACT team shares responsibility for each case, with interventions aimed at reducing symptoms, improving functioning, and strengthening family systems to promote long-term well-being and stability.

Position Summary:

The Program Supervisor serves as the assistant team leader for JCCA’s Youth ACT program, overseeing the delivery of intensive, individualized, and evidence-based therapeutic services through a coordinated, multi-disciplinary team approach. This role supports the team leader in managing clinical direction, service planning, and daily operations to help youth remain safely in their homes, schools, and communities.

The supervisor provides direct clinical services, conducts individual and group supervision, and ensures services are responsive, flexible, and tailored to the evolving needs of children and families. Responsibilities include oversight of staff activities, assistance with scheduling, and participation in team meetings, side-by-side field work, and organizational planning. The Program Supervisor must complete all required ACT Institute trainings and maintain CANS certification.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide case contacts – treatment planning, monitoring, crisis management, crisis response - 25% of time
  • Supervision and clinical guidance of all Youth ACT team members - 35% of time
  • Oversight of daily team meetings, scheduling including preplanning and leading, engage in external activities – 15% of time
  • Documentation, maintaining census, revenue cycle management – 25% of time
Qualifications:

An LCSW is required for this position as well 3-5 years of experience working with children and youth with significant emotional disorders, severe mental, emotional and behavioral impairments (commensurate with RTF or CR level of care), histories of hospitalization, and families with complex, multi-system needs, in crisis, with children in a mental health setting, or related experience. This individual should have significant experience in a management or senior-level role leading an interdisciplinary team.

Excellent organizational, supervisory, writing and leadership skills are integral for this position. This position also requires someone who can think outside the box, lead a team under pressure, and who is willing to be a team player and assume responsibilities of colleagues as needed.

Additional knowledge and skills must include:
  • Excellent Computer skills (particularly Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work with multiple functional departments
  • Knowledge of Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Medicaid and Federal guidelines
  • Strong background in Evidence Based Models and Practice
  • Patience and ability to work as a team
  • Expertise in Social Determinants of Health, Race Equity, Social Justice, and Trauma Informed care
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and clinical skills
