Location: New York
Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Central Brooklyn
Join Braverhood as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Central Brooklyn.
Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Fluent speakers of Russian, Spanish, and other languages are welcome.
We are looking for passionate, part‑time DSPs to provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities in the home and within the community.
Responsibilities of the DSP (Direct Support Professional)- Foster a positive environment for individuals to achieve personal goals (e.g., social interactions and activities of daily living)
- Work closely with Case Supervisors on monthly goals and plans of action
- Document services rendered and client progress daily and monthly
- Provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities in the home and within the community
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and training once a year
- Submit all paperwork and monthly summaries on time
- Adhere to all agency and OPWDD regulations
- Accountability and commitment a must for this position
- Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree required
- Experience with the special needs community, preferably with children or young adults, including helping them in the community and integrating into society through communication and social skills
- Reliable transportation required (driver's license and vehicle preferred)
- Must complete an online DSP training course once hired
- Must be able to show up to work on time
- Dress code:
Casual; arrive appropriately and respectfully
