We are seeking a Front Desk Receptionist for our Medical office to join our team! As a front desk staff, you will be responsible for greeting patients, checking them in, and managing patient files or obtaining new patient information. You will also answer phone calls, direct them appropriately, mail or fax documentation, and maintain accurate medical and correspondence records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and works well independently and as part of a team.
AboutOur Practice
Our medical office specializes in Neurology, Headaches, and Spine Care. We are currently hiring for a Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant position.
Work ScheduleThe Medical Receptionist position involves working on:
- Monday (10:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Every other Thursday (10:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Alternating Wednesdays in Manhattan (10:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
- Every other Wednesday in Manhattan (12:00 PM - 7:00 PM)
- Tuesday in Queens (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Friday (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
- Verify insurance eligibility and authorizations for medications/procedures
- Prepare and set up IVs
- Answer calls, schedule appointments, scan documents into electronic medical records
- Send and review incoming faxes
- Confirm patient appointments and obtain referrals from primary care doctors
- Minimum one year of experience in a medical office as a receptionist/front desk
- Experience with insurance eligibility and authorizations
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office
Previous office experience is desired.
