Overview

The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is implementing a Harm Reduction Strategic Plan to build agency capacity to prevent overdose and other drug and alcohol related harms. NYU School of Medicine has been awarded a five-year research grant to collaborate with DHS to evaluate the efficacy and impact of the Harm Reduction Strategic Plan. Public Health Solutions is providing grant-funded, part-time support for the Project Assistant role within the DHS Health Service Office, under the supervision of the Director of Health and Homeless Service Integration.

Base

pay range

$36.07/hr - $36.08/hr

Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the DHS Project Directors, the Project Assistant will:
  • Support the development of evaluation data collection systems
  • Collate and clean programmatic and administrative data for DHS harm reduction strategic plan initiatives
  • Assist with data use agreements/memoranda of understanding
  • Assist with transfer of data and data linkage
  • Conduct data quality assurance checks and support quality improvement activities, including ongoing data collection technical assistance for direct service staff implementing the strategic plan interventions
  • Monitor and track fidelity of the program
  • Work with the NYU data analyst to interpret and use DSS data as needed, assisting in the preparation of reports and publications
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Three years of experience working in program evaluation, implementation science, or applied research, including strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative collection and analysis methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, or other related platforms
  • Ability to analyze, summarize, visualize and interpret health program data
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
