Under the direction of a radiologist, performs CAT Scan or MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

OverviewFor positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.
Responsibilities- Patient and Room Preparation: a) entering patient data into Epic and other appropriate computer systems as necessary. b) Placing the patient on the scan table in the correct position for the scan to be performed. c) Obtain appropriate scout image for procedure.
- Obtain cross sectional images: proper setting of protocols and sequences to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the radiologist.
- Direct involvement during procedure: a) assistance at the side of the radiologist during biopsy procedures as needed. b) Constant attention to the progression of the procedure while in the control room, monitoring progression of biopsy procedure c) involvement with operating injector when necessary.
- Photographing and processing of images: photographing and labeling scan images, processing and displaying final images on viewing machines for radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain all necessary records of image slices, injections, etc.
- Observe all rules and regulations regarding radiation safety for patients and staff.
- Train other associates and students in CAT Scan or MRI procedures.
- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area.
- Perform duties of a 4T technologist as needed.
- Perform other related assigned tasks.

- Registered Radiologic Technologist.
- OHS Fit Test.
- OHS Annual Assessment.
- Satisfactory completion of a formal radiologic technology training and meets the requirements for certification by ARRT.
