Radiologic Technologist graduates welcome.Radiologic Technologist - Family Practice responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and protect patient, selfand other staff from radiation and other safety hazards.
- Select proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis using the principles of ALARA and adjusts and sets radiographic controls.
- Takex-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety to include proper infection control procedures for the work area.
- Evaluate radiographs and repeatas needed.
- Process radiographs using the operating system andsendimages.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to verify orders, document x-ray releases, route imaging reports to patient charts, and other associated patient care functions.
- Workwith radiologist and imaging center staff to coordinate the exchange of images and information for optimal patient care and result reporting.
- Prepare CD copies for patient sand other specialty/imaging centers.
- As needed, prepare the work area for stock and cleanliness while starting up all x-ray or computer units as per department protocol.
Radiologic Technologist - Family Practice education/experience:
- Associate's degree (A.
A. /
A. S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in science/radiologic technology or equivalent certificate from an accredited radiologic technology program - One to three years related experience and/or training as a radiologic technologist in either a hospital or a medical practice environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- New York State license in diagnostic radiography
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration required
If hired as Graduate Technologist aNYS limited licensure work permit must be obtained within 90 days of graduation and must pass licensing exam within 120 days of beginning employment
