9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with occasional evenings and weekends)
Salary: $45,000 annually

Our mission is to provide comprehensive, high-quality care to our diverse community. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our HIV Department as a Health Educator. This role offers an opportunity to contribute creatively to a dynamic organization while working toward a healthier future.
Role OverviewAs a Health Educator in our HIV Department, you will play a vital role in promoting sexual health and preventing HIV transmission. Through education, outreach, testing, and linkage to care, you will empower community members to take charge of their well‑being.
Responsibilities- Lead engaging and informative workshops on HIV-related topics in various community settings
- Develop and deliver effective educational presentations for individuals and groups
- Plan, facilitate, and manage structured health education group interventions
- Distribute HIV prevention materials, including condoms, to individuals and groups
- Provide individualized health education and counseling to high‑risk individuals
- Conduct targeted outreach in central Brooklyn, at venues, and online
- Engage priority populations in discussions on HIV prevention topics, including HIV testing, PrEP/PEP, and condom use
- Innovate and facilitate a support group for women living with HIV/AIDS
- Maintain and update culturally appropriate community education materials
- Accurately document all activities in accordance with program protocols
- Conduct data entry in a timely manner
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director
- Demonstrated commitment to HIV prevention and improving community health outcomes
- Strong ability to create educational presentations and manage group education interventions
- Comfort with outreach and discussing sexual health and harm reduction
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and other platforms to work independently
- Familiarity with the AIDS Institute Reporting System (AIRS) is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, social services, public health, or a related field is a plus
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole is beneficial
- Knowledge of central Brooklyn neighborhoods is a plus
