The Senior DSP will provide oversight to staff working within a day habilitation classroom setting. The Senior DSP is the charge person in the classroom and is responsible for planning the daily operation of the room with regard to staff assignments within the classroom, activity schedules, personal care schedules and community outings.
Core Responsibilities- Ensure the implementation of goals and behavior plans for the people we support; ensure that the Individual Program Plan (IPP) is implemented and documented.
- Attend to personal, self-care and other program needs that the person we support cannot independently accomplish.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of the people we support and report issues as necessary.
- Participate in activities as part of the treatment team that may include meetings, trainings and committees.
- Transport the people we support to and from day program and community activities.
- Maintain the timely completion of all records and reports.
- Ensure effective communication of daily work info and expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.
- High School Diploma
- One-year experience in a direct support role with individuals with a Developmental Disability preferred.
- Travel is required. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license.
