The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position SummaryThis position will support the department by performing studies on understanding genome instability in early mammalian development. The position's responsibilities will involve whole genome amplification, NGS, bioinformatics, immunostaining and microscopy, induction of site specific DSBs using CRISPR/Cas9 and the evaluation of genetic consequences.
Responsibilities- Perform studies on understanding genome instability in early mammalian development.
- Conduct whole genome amplification, NGS, bioinformatics, immunostaining and microscopy, induction of site specific DSBs using CRISPR/Cas9 and evaluate genetic consequences.
- Understand genomic attrition at a DSB site.
- Assist with the study of developmental arrest induced by exogenous RNA.
- Perform related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training and experience.
- Master’s degree in biotechnology.
- One year of related experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques preferred.
- Candidate must successfully undergo a drug screening test and a background check prior to receiving a final offer of employment.
