Registered School Nurse; 20 Shift

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate students' health conditions and develop appropriate care plans
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Monitor and manage chronic health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies
• Provide health education and counseling to students, families, and staff
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other healthcare professionals to promote a healthy school environment
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students using the student management system
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed
• Provide care for students on a medical bus before school, after school, or during community trips
• Coordinate with community healthcare providers for specialized services or referrals

• Valid RN license (NYS)
• Knowledge of health coaching principles and techniques
• Familiarity with medical equipment, such as durable medical equipment (DME) and AED
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, staff, and healthcare professionals
• Compassionate and student-centered approach to healthcare delivery
