Industrial Temporary Physical Therapist Assistant PTA

We are looking for an energetic and results-driven Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our industrial division with injury prevention services onsite temporarily for a major airline carrier at the JFK Airport. We strive to increase the industrial athletes ability to perform their job duties safely and decrease the risk of injury through intervention at the early onset of discomfort in a dynamic work environment.

This position will strategically support employees by providing occupational care ergonomic support/training education and coaching. Come be a part of a growing organization in a progressive supportive and innovative team!

What will you be doing in this role
  • Providing ergonomic assessments and support by understanding the site operations job processes and physical demands in order to make ergonomic recommendations for the purposes of preventing more serious musculoskeletal conditions from occurring
    • Conducting in-person ergo/lift training sessions in a small classroom setting
    • Guiding employees through an operational simulation with observations and feedback
  • Providing proactive injury prevention injury care assessment and medical triage as defined by OSHA standards including ergonomic postural education and/or escalation of medical care if needed
  • Keeping accurate detailed documentation with efficiency while being able to provide feedback to the industrial athlete and client for continuous health improvements
  • Understanding and providing reports with key metrics to leadership client partners and operations management

Our

ideal candidate will have:
  • An Associates Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant
  • CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s)
  • Basic knowledge of workers compensation and OSHA regulations preferred
  • The ability to stand walk and sit throughout the entire assigned shift
  • Ergonomic and/or occupational health experience
  • Previous experience with public speaking in a training environment is preferred
  • A high degree of professionalism in both written and verbal communication
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment without constant supervision
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Word PowerPoint and Excel
