Base Pay Range

$48.00/hr - $57.00/hr

13 weeks (possible extension based on performance)

• 10‑hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• 40 hours weekly
• Required to float to Perioperative Services

The Certified Surgical Technician provides surgical assistance to surgical residents and attending physicians in the Oral Surgery Clinic and Dental Ambulatory Operating Room/Procedure Room. The CST ensures a safe, sterile, and efficient surgical environment while delivering high‑quality patient care.

• Escort patients to the surgical chair and screen patients awaiting procedures.
• Review medical records to confirm required treatment and ensure documentation is complete (notes, PMH, lab results, etc.).
• Provide continuous “four‑handed” chair‑side assistance to clinicians.
• Clean and disinfect countertops, mayo stands, equipment, and operatory areas prior to setup.
• Organize and prepare sterile instruments, surgical trays, and equipment for each procedure.
• Take radiographs as requested before, during, or after procedures.
• Monitor patient vitals, assist with suctioning, pass instruments and medications as directed.
• Remove instruments and equipment post‑procedure and dispose of medical waste properly.
• Restock cabinets and drawers; order and maintain surgical and medical supplies.
• Demonstrate the ability to respond effectively and calmly during emergency situations.

• Minimum 2 years of recent CST experience (required)
• Ability to float to Perioperative areas
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical protocols

• Hourly (Travel): $57.50/hour
• Local Rate: $48–$50/hour
