The Specimen Processing Specialist will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, data entry, and specimen handling in a fast‑paced, high‑throughput environment located onsite in New York, NY.

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively with client office staff
• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
• Perform spinning/freezing/splitting and other special services as needed based on client requests

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of relevant experience (lab/accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment)
• Previous medical or patient‑facing healthcare experience is a plus
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test

$17.75 – $20.00 per hour

Plus 2nd shift differential.

Monday – Friday 6:00 pm – 3:30 am, rotating Saturdays.

Casual, PRN & Part‑Time employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.

Employees scheduled to work a 7‑on/7‑off schedule are eligible for all benefits except PTO or FTO.
