Full-Time Outreach Coordinator
Location:
Queens / Manhattan, New York, United States
Reports to:
Program Manager
- Work closely with the Program Manager to implement the Consumer Assistance for the Aged, Blind and Disabled Program
- Establish contacts with community groups to reach uninsured and underinsured populations
- Connect with organizations that serve the aged, blind and disabled population to raise community awareness of the program and of Medicaid enrollment services
- Plan, schedule, and conduct outreach (e.g., street outreach, community events, and presentations at senior centers) and train enrollers on outreach and recruitment strategies
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and conferences
- Coordinate open‑house events to educate prospective applicants on their health insurance options
- Enroll clients into Medicaid programs with Medicare eligibility assessments
- Track referrals and collaborations within and outside the Health Center
- Provide monthly reports to the Manager on outreach statistics
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associate degree required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred - Experience in public health, social services, health insurance enrollment, and outreach (preferred)
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese
- Solid presentation skills and demonstrated ability to speak in public and in front of large groups
- Ability to develop business contacts and collaborative professional relationships
- High computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Salary: $45,000 per year
