Full-Time Outreach Coordinator

Location:

Queens / Manhattan, New York, United States

Reports to:

Program Manager

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Program Manager to implement the Consumer Assistance for the Aged, Blind and Disabled Program
  • Establish contacts with community groups to reach uninsured and underinsured populations
  • Connect with organizations that serve the aged, blind and disabled population to raise community awareness of the program and of Medicaid enrollment services
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct outreach (e.g., street outreach, community events, and presentations at senior centers) and train enrollers on outreach and recruitment strategies
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and conferences
  • Coordinate open‑house events to educate prospective applicants on their health insurance options
  • Enroll clients into Medicaid programs with Medicare eligibility assessments
  • Track referrals and collaborations within and outside the Health Center
  • Provide monthly reports to the Manager on outreach statistics
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree required;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in public health, social services, health insurance enrollment, and outreach (preferred)
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese
  • Solid presentation skills and demonstrated ability to speak in public and in front of large groups
  • Ability to develop business contacts and collaborative professional relationships
  • High computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Salary: $45,000 per year
