The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Primary Clinician/ Supported Education Employment Specialist for the Washington Heights Community Service (WHCS) OnTrack
NY team. OnTrack
NY serves adolescents and young adults experiencing early psychosis. Our mission is to empower young people to make meaning of their experiences and to pursue their goals for school, work, and relationships. The Primary Clinician/ Supported Education Employment Specialist is a full-time, on-site position. 50% of time will be providing clinical care to program participants and 50% will be spent supporting participants in meeting their goals for school and work.
The OnTrack NY model offers hopeful, youth-friendly, recovery-oriented work; a supportive & collaborative team-based approach; low participant care load; training and technical assistance in the CSC model; and a learning community of experts and colleagues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serving as Primary Clinician, which includes conducting assessments; treatment planning; assessing risk & safety planning; providing therapy, care management and family services; providing services in the community; supporting participants in transitioning to other services and participating in on-call rotation providing after hours support by phone for urgent clinical situations
- Serving as Supported Education and Employment Specialist, which includes supporting participants to attain or maintain education or competitive employment; helping participants explore their interests; providing job development services based on participants' interests; providing support with applying to, returning to or staying in school; arranging access to entitlements counseling; meeting participants in the community; meeting with school personnel and potential employers
- Collaborating closely with team members and participating in the weekly team meeting
- Ensuring timely documentation of all services provided
- Completing required data reporting for program evaluation and fidelity assessment
- Using computer with proficiency, including Microsoft Word and experience with or ability to learn Microsoft Outlook
Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed Masters in an appropriate clinical field (social work, mental health counseling or similar)
Preferred Qualifications:
- (1) year of experience working with adolescents and/or adults diagnosed with mental illness.
- (1) year of experience providing employment or education services.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
