** Medical Assistant - Float**##

* Location:

Westhampton, Riverhead, Wading River, Rocky Point, Mt. Sinai, Port Jefferson, & East Setauket, NY**##
** Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour shifts, Mon-Fri between 7am-8pm**##
** Organization:
New York Health (NYH) - PCP**## ##
** In this role, you will:**
* ** Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording**
* ** Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests**
* ** Record patients' vital signs**
* ** Prepare patients for examinations**
* ** Sterilize medical equipment and instruments**
* ** Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process**
* ** Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures**
* ** Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing**
* ** Other duties as assigned*
* ** We require:**
* ** A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma**
* ** Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)**
* ** Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred)**
* ** Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching**
* ** Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids**
* ** Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times**
* ** Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs*
