Medical Billing Specialist Surgical Practice

A well-established surgical practice with 10+ affiliated offices is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join its growing revenue cycle team.

This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented billing professional with strong medical coding knowledge and operative report experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced surgical environment.

• Verify insurance coverage for patient encounters
• Update patient demographics and insurance information in Nextech
• Accurately enter medical charges and ensure timely claim submission
• Review and analyze operative reports to abstract information for accurate coding
• Maintain EMR and Scheduled Not Billed reports
• Complete workers compensation and no-fault forms
• Review daily charge-entry reports for accuracy and completeness
• Send non-participating letters to new patients
• Assist with additional billing and revenue cycle responsibilities as needed

• 3+ years of medical billing experience
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
• In-depth understanding of medical coding guidelines and practices
• Proven ability to review operative reports for accurate coding
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Associate Degree in Medical Billing, Health Information Management, or related field preferred
• CPC certification preferred
