Akerman is seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Coordinator for our New York office. This is a hands‑on working position responsible for planning menus, designing and setting up catered events both within and outside our office, ordering kitchen supplies, and managing vendor relationships.

Requirements
  • Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of professional catering and event setup experience
  • Superior interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Demonstrated capacity for effective prioritization of competing deadlines
  • Proven capability to perform efficiently under time‑sensitive conditions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with firm leadership
  • Willingness to accept guidance and constructive input
  • Willingness and capacity to work extended hours and remain on‑call as operational needs dictate
  • Experience in a law firm environment preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate a variety of catering events for office meetings, client functions, and special occasions
  • Create and/or purchase decorations for events
  • Obtain vendor quotes from outside caterers and manage relationships with service providers
  • Coordinating/planning event menus that accommodate various dietary restrictions and preferences
  • Order and maintain kitchen supplies
  • Submit vendor bills for payment in a timely manner
  • Ensure all catered events are executed smoothly and professionally
  • Respond promptly to last‑minute event requests

Job Type: Salary

Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 (Actual salary is based on experience and job qualifications.)
