Labor Relations Specialist

Madison-Oneida BOCES in Verona, NY, is looking for a full-time experienced Labor Relations Specialist to work with school district leaders and serves as a chief negotiator for participating school districts. This position will report to the Director of Labor Relations & Policy and the Deputy Superintendent.

Our ideal candidates will be able to:

• Represent participating school districts in matters such as:
  • Personnel and employee relations
  • Disciplinary proceedings
  • Investigation of employment discrimination claims
  • Administration of collective bargaining agreements
• Analyze trends in existing employment, wage and salary practices
• Plan and conduct workshops and seminars for administrative personnel
• Develop policies and procedures

What you bring to our team:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in collective bargaining and labor relations, preferably in the public sector
• Familiarity with federal and state law governing:
  • Employee relations
  • Operations of school districts
• 3-5 years of experience in public sector labor relations preferred

Salary Range: $81,000 to $100,000, depending on qualifications. Subject to Oneida County Civil Service requirements and exam.
