Human Resources Assistant

Afinitas – a global leader in pipe and precast concrete equipment, forming systems and concrete accessories used to build critical transportation, water and utility infrastructure systems, is recruiting for a Human Resources Assistant.

Job Description

  • Support the full‑cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, posting, reviewing, prescreening applicants, scheduling interviews, coordinating pre‑employment tests, extending offers, and onboarding new team members.
  • Ensure a welcoming and thorough new‑hire process; assist new hires with documentation, policy review, benefits enrollment, PPE acquisition, and other new‑hire needs.
  • Provide team‑member support in Workday for questions about time off, benefits, profile updates, etc.
  • Communicate Workday compliance training and policy acknowledgement requirements to team members and leaders and track/report site progress.
  • Manage team‑member data changes (role, compensation, reporting) and establish procedures to maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate meetings and events for internal and external groups (scheduling, catering, room set‑up).
  • Under IT guidance, provide technical support for company equipment, initiate password resets, set up new equipment, and liaise with off‑site IT for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Maintain OSHA and other safety documentation and logs; support location safety committees and track accident‑related tasks.
  • Facilitate or schedule facility or system repair requests; maintain the site security system (badge access, cameras, fire alarms, sprinklers), update documentation, and keep a security access log.
  • Coordinate vendors for shop and office services (cleaning, snow removal, grass cutting, etc.).
  • Check timesheet completion as needed to ensure timely payroll processing.
  • Complete additional duties as required; flexibility to add value where needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR management, business, or related discipline preferred.
  • At least 2 years of related experience preferred, optimally in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and security regarding employee information.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Office and comfortable learning internal applications.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team to complete multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain credibility with all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and task follow‑through.
  • Strong adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness.

Work Environment

  • Office position associated with a manufacturing facility; must correctly wear required PPE in the manufacturing area.

Compensation

The approximate pay range for this position is $21–$29 per hour. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k) plan with company match, and more, all starting on day one.
