Overview
Senior Human Resources Business Partner role s position reports to the Director of People Operations and is responsible for HR leadership for NABIS’s New York sites (Rochester and Bronx), with ~50 employees. The role goes beyond day-to-day HR operations to lead strategic HR initiatives, build robust HR systems, and foster proactive talent development.

The Senior HRBP oversees all HR-related responsibilities for NABIS’ New York sites, with ~50 employees. This role focuses on aligning company goals with People Team operations, ensuring state and federal compliance, and driving efficiency, risk management, engagement, and continuous improvement in a fast-growing environment. On-site presence is required 2-3 days per week at either the Rochester warehouse or Bronx hub.
Responsibilities- Independently manage day-to-day People operations and partner with NY-based employees (Rochester and Bronx).
- Lead on-site HR functions: onboarding and training, 30/60/90-day check-ins, employee relations, engagement, LOA/FMLA/ADA, workers’ comp, talent management, offboarding, and policy/procedure development.
- Conduct HR investigations in compliance with state, federal, and local laws and NABIS best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement by implementing HR systems and process enhancements to improve the employee experience.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to managers on promotions, progressive discipline, and proactive talent development.
- Foster NABIS culture, support change management, and lead engagement and retention programs with the People Team.
- Oversee OSHA reporting and participate in the safety committee.
- Maintain complete and accurate personnel records in payroll and HR systems; ensure timely processing of status changes and benefits updates.
- Act as HR lead for cross-functional initiatives impacting New York operations and beyond.
- 3 to 5 years in an HR leadership role supporting 50+ hourly employees, with knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to be on-site 2-3 days per week in Rochester or the Bronx.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and discretion with confidential information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence and a collaborative mindset.
