Required Skills & Experience- 5+ years of payroll experience, in an environment with field workers/employees
- Experience implementing large-scale payroll process changes such as company mergers or acquisitions, system migrations or implementations, etc.
- Deep knowledge of New York State labor laws and wage/hour regulations
- Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Empeon, Paycom, Paylocity, or similar), and strong Excel/data analysis skills.
- Experience with in healthcare, home care, or high-volume service environments
Insight Global is seeking an experienced and highly organized Payroll Lead to manage and oversee the payroll operations for our client, a large, multi-state caregiver workforce. This role is responsible for managing the full payroll lifecycle, from onboarding new caregivers to ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing throughout their employment. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strategic leadership, deep compliance knowledge, and hands-on process improvement experience to support a growing organization in delivering consistent, high-quality service to our caregivers.
Key Responsibilities Payroll Leadership & Strategy- Lead, mentor, and develop the payroll team to support the needs of several thousand active caregivers.
- Design and execute payroll strategies and scalable processes that ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for payroll-related inquiries, exceptions, or disputes.
- Oversee the payroll component of caregiver onboarding to ensure seamless entry into the system.
- Collaborate with HR, Recruiting, and Compliance teams to ensure caregiver data is accurate, complete, and ready for timely payroll activation.
- Maintain oversight of the entire caregiver payroll lifecycle including pay rate changes, deductions, terminations, and offboarding.
- Ensure full compliance with Department of Labor (DOL) and wage and hour laws, with deep knowledge of New York State labor laws.
- Proactively learn and implement payroll regulations for additional states as the company expands.
- Stay current on regulatory changes and lead updates to systems and processes as required.
- Continuously evaluate, enhance, and streamline payroll processes, aiming for maximum efficiency without compromising accuracy or caregiver satisfaction.
- Drive automation initiatives and collaborate with IT or vendors to optimize payroll systems and integrations.
- Ensure payroll platforms are maintained, updated, and utilized effectively.
$100,000 to $140,000 per year annual salary
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
