The Lateral Partner Recruiting Specialist reports to the Firm’s Senior Manager of Lateral Partner Recruiting and assists with the management of lateral partner recruitment for our US offices, including in providing support for developing and implementing strategic search strategies, liaising with legal search firms, overseeing the coordination of lateral partner candidate interviews and related feedback, and providing support to the new partner onboarding process.

Responsibilities:

  • Help oversee the lateral partner candidate pipeline, primarily for our US offices, including circulation of candidate resumes, scheduling interviews, and collecting feedback
  • Liaise with our legal search firms regarding candidates in process.
  • Coordinate interview process, including but not limited to scheduling and administering interviews virtually and in-person, reserving conference rooms, greeting and communicating with candidates
  • Facilitate decision making process and follow‐up including tracking and collecting interviews’ feedback and drafting offer letters
  • Develop initial drafts of lateral partner presentations in support of a candidate’s vote process
  • Help oversee new partner onboarding process including the transition of client-matters, BIC intake, engagement letters, transfer letters, and the new joiner’s orientation
  • Manage the lateral partner database to ensure data is recorded accurately and timely
  • Assist with the management of recruitment-related spreadsheets and tracking of relevant information
  • Analyze recruiting data and results, compare to strategy and targets, communicate status to senior members of the department and others as needed
  • Help ensure the highest quality candidate experience throughout recruitment process
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2 - 3 years previous law firm experience; legal recruiting experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and priorities
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Interact effectively with all levels of firm personnel and management
  • Must be team‐oriented and able to share information effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up and follow through skills
  • Work independently, under the direction of others, and as a part of a team
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Proactively learn and adapt to new systems and processes
  • Effectively handle and prioritize multiple time‐sensitive tasks, and work well in a high‐pressure environment in a thoughtful manner
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience with applicant tracking systems a plus

This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
