PositionSummary
The Vice President, People and Culture will serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team. This leader will be responsible for setting the overall HR strategy, building scalable systems, strengthening culture, and ensuring HR operations support both mission and growth goals. The ideal candidate brings a balance of high-level strategy and hands‑on execution, strong leadership capability, experience in regulated environments, and a deep passion for the behavioral health and recovery field.
Spanish fluency and a strong connection to mission‑driven work are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with organizational mission and long‑term goals
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership
- Lead talent acquisition for clinical, operational, and corporate roles
- Build and develop a high‑performing HR team
- Oversee employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, HRIS systems, and compliance
- Champion a values‑based culture that supports employee engagement and retention
- Drive workforce planning to support expansion across multiple sites
- Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including those specific to behavioral health and human services
- Use HR data and analytics to inform decision making and improve HR processes
- Act as a change leader during periods of growth, restructuring, and organizational evolution
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Background in behavioral health, human services, healthcare, or another regulated mission‑driven environment
- Spanish fluency is a significant plus
- Proven ability to build or scale an HR function in a growing organization
- Experience working with a diverse workforce and multilingual communities
- Strong leadership and decision‑making ability
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to partner closely with senior executives and influence at all levels
