As an HR Generalist, you’ll develop strong relationships and serve as a trusted resource and advocate in supporting Horizon’s mission. You’ll be involved in all areas of HR administration and surrounded by a supportive team that’s committed to your professional development. If you have an interest in all aspects of Human Resources and the employee life cycle, this job may be perfect for you! The essential functions of this position include:

• Welcoming New Employees:
  Create an exceptional first‑day experience by welcoming new employees, guiding them through company policies, supporting benefit enrollment, and ensuring all role‑specific regulatory requirements are completed with care and accuracy.
• Benefits Administration: answer questions about employee benefit and wellness programs, health insurance and retirement plans; provide information and support to employees regarding benefits options and enrollment.
• Leaves of Absence and Accommodations: administer federal and state-mandated leave programs (FMLA, NYS DBL & PFL, ADA), provide guidance to employees and managers through the application and approval process.
• Workers Compensation and Safety: collect incident reports and track; maintain and update documentation and status of claims; and submissions to the carrier.
• Culture Building: promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Compliance: ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations; maintain updated employee records; assist in preparation of HR reports.
