Prior lateral recruiting experience is required.
- Partner with firm management, practice group leaders, and the Senior Director of Legal Recruiting to identify lateral hiring needs and develop recruiting strategies.
- Manage the recruiting process for lateral attorneys, judicial clerks, and third-year law students, including screening, interview coordination, candidate hosting, feedback collection, and recordkeeping.
- Oversee lateral recruiting communications and follow-up, including drafting correspondence and coordinating the distribution, collection, and review of interview feedback.
- Serve as a primary contact for search firms and other recruiting professionals, communicate search criteria, and provide timely feedback.
- Build strong relationships with candidates, vendors, attorneys, managers, and staff while providing responsive, high-quality service.
- Maintain lateral recruiting materials, reports, website content, and online job postings.
- Coordinate onboarding for lateral hires, including orientation with legal personnel, conflicts checks, and background checks through approval.
- Maintain recruiting databases, fee agreements, expense reimbursements, and reports related to lateral searches and placements.
- At least five years of legal recruiting experience at a large law firm.
- Lateral attorney recruiting experience is required.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and budgets.
- Self-directed and motivated, with the ability to anticipate needs and work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication, listening, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Strong computer skills and sound judgment when making decisions within the role.
- Collaborative, flexible, and committed to providing thoughtful and courteous service to candidates and colleagues.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, with significant overtime during the summer and fall recruiting seasons.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, approximately two to three times per year.
