System & Network Manager

Poughkeepsie, NY

Pay: $100,000-$130,000/year (dependent on relevant experience) Bonus: 10% bonus potential

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience required
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in network and systems administration
  • Prior experience working in a multi-site or enterprise environments
  • Strong knowledge of network design, administration, and troubleshooting (LAN, WAN, VPN, VLANs, and wireless technologies)
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
Responsibilities

Reliable availability of the computer, data and voice communications systems to support the company operations

  • Providing and monitoring all interfaces of our network with Caterpillar
  • Oversee, design and support the voice communications system
  • Resolving problems and technical issues on the LAN/WAN and phone system
  • Provide technical support to IT and users on any issues that cannot be resolved in a timely manner by other operations staff
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures for critical systems
  • Document and test disaster recovery procedures for critical systems
Network security administration
  • Develop, implement and maintain firewall technologies that secure computing infrastructure
  • Define network security issues, develop plans and procedures and ensure safety and privacy of corporate, internet and intranet sites
  • Review security logs and violation reports
Talent Development

A high‑performing workforce through effective hiring, development and retention of talent

  • Achieve a culture of high productivity and morale by fostering engagement, collaboration, and safety
  • Build a high‑performing team by developing members to consistently achieve job expectations through coaching, continuous feedback, and accountability
  • Take accountability for talent development by regularly reviewing and discussing employee development activities, such as onboarding, training, and career development initiatives
Communication infrastructure design

Effective design and development of solutions for the communication infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, data and voice communications, to assist the company in achieving corporate goals, strategies and vision

  • Maintaining the infrastructure at a level consistent with available technology and corporate requirements
  • Recommending solutions to increase corporate efficiency
  • Develop network and communications solutions to solve business problems
  • Work with vendors to develop systems and solutions
  • Implement solutions in a timely and cost‑effective manner
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience required
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in network and systems administration

Physical Requirements
  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Hand coordination for typing, writing, and computer use
  • Occasional forward bending and reaching
  • Occasional walking and climbing stairs
  • Carrying (up to 20lbs.)
