Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together. The Company’s three core products are Snapchat, a visual messaging app that enhances your relationships with friends, family, and the world;
Lens Studio, an augmented reality platform that powers AR across Snapchat and other services; and its AR glasses, Spectacles.

We’re looking for a Senior Anti-Abuse Analyst to join Snapchat’s Customer and Review Operations organization! Working cross-functionally across the company, you will be responsible for efforts related to security and privacy, including analysis, reporting, and strategy development. This position will facilitate the implementation of best practices, insight into spam and abuse patterns, opportunities for research and development of abuse prevention strategies, and optimization of existing processes.

You’ll collaborate with Customer Operations, Engineering, and our Product teams to help keep Snap chatters safe and limit the opportunity for abuse on the platform.

What you’ll do:
  • Perform analysis on existing and newly emerging abuse trends, including sampling support inquiries to understand the experience and impact to the Snapchat Community.
  • Identify behavior patterns of malicious actors to understand motive, tactics, and beyond.
  • Work cross-functionally to enhance and develop ways to identify and surface abusive behavior.
  • Design, execute, and document Adversarial Safety Testing (Red-Teaming) scenarios; consolidate results and present findings, risks, and recommended remediations to cross-functional partners.
  • Employ project management principles to ensure identified safety and integrity issues are tracked, prioritized, and driven to resolution with engineering and product teams.
  • Identify automation opportunities both in the product and support experience to ascertain and mitigate risk.
  • Enhance operational workflows via process improvements.
  • Use data to influence decisions and give voice to user-impacting issues.
  • Anticipate abuse risks, provide escalation management, negotiate with decision makers, and balance business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance, Product, and Engineering teams, providing them with timely metrics and analysis, investigating potential account access issues, and following up with Snap chatters as needed.
  • Research industry trends.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient data and quantitative analysis skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to create visuals, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate your insights.
  • Great judgment and ability to problem-solve, both independently and with peers.
  • Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing business needs.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, specifically for tracking and driving technical and operational remediation efforts for identified issues.
  • Experience creating and participating in Adversarial Safety Testing, with a focus on reputational risk and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL and building data pipelines to identify trends.
  • Experience analyzing data to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or other similar programs.
  • Experience managing multiple projects end to end.
  • Experience with JIRA or similar issue tracking software.
  • Experience creating and executing adversarial safety testing programs for online platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience investigating spam, or other types of abuse is a huge plus!
  • Ability to write advanced SQL queries.
  • Data driven with proven track record managing data sets, and reporting to inform decision making.
