Director of IT Services
We are seeking an experienced Director of IT Services to lead our technology operations and drive strategic IT initiatives across the organization. This leadership role requires a seasoned technology professional who can effectively manage diverse IT teams, maintain critical infrastructure, and ensure seamless technology operations that support business objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
- Oversee and manage help desk personnel, networking professionals, and system administrators
- Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for IT staff
- Foster a collaborative team environment and establish clear performance metrics and accountability standards
- Coordinate cross-functional projects and ensure effective resource allocation across IT teams
- Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of Windows-based server environments and enterprise systems
- Oversee network infrastructure planning, implementation, and optimization
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices
- Monitor system performance and implement proactive maintenance schedules
- Maintain and develop relationships with key technology vendors and service providers
- Lead contract negotiations for software licenses, hardware purchases, and professional services
Evaluate vendor proposals and make recommendations for technology investments - Manage vendor performance and ensure service level agreement compliance
- Oversee IT budget planning and cost optimization initiatives
- Develop and execute IT strategic plans aligned with organizational goals
- Assess emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiency
- Establish IT governance frameworks and change management processes
- Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership on IT operations and initiatives
- Ensure compliance with industry standards
Experience & Technical Skills
- Minimum 10 years of hands‑on system administration experience in Windows environments
- Proven leadership experience managing IT teams and complex technology projects
- Strong expertise in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and enterprise networking
- Experience with cloud technologies, virtualization platforms, and modern IT infrastructure
- Demonstrated success in vendor relationship management and contract negotiation
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Relevant industry certifications preferred (Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, etc.)
- Advanced degree or MBA preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to executive audiences
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business language
- Experience developing and managing IT budgets and financial planning
