this Role You’ll:
We at Paramount are seeking a Lead Engineer, Network Design & Engineering! The Paramount Technology department supports our global content company through the delivery of a high‑quality viewing experience, system infrastructure support, and crafting innovative ways for our employees to collaborate. Responsibilities Include:- Implement and manage enterprise networking and information security solutions with high reliability and availability.
- Introduce new networking and information security technologies or improve existing technologies to transform existing capabilities and services.
- Provide networking and information security domain expertise to other teams as needed.
- Provide an engineering perspective in solution, system, network, firewall, information security, and process development and implementation.
- Maintain technical documents for solutions and standard operating procedures such that services are delivered in an efficient and effective manner.
- Lead engineering efforts for Palo Alto SASE and NGFW (Cisco, Palo) firewalls on site and in Cloud environments.
- Stay on top of the latest Palo Alto and Cisco Security products and offerings.
- Support of the Paramount Global Network, Information Security and IP, and related information security services issues in and out of hours, resolve complex system and network / information security issues and outages.
- 3rd line support of all Paramount Global network and information security infrastructure.
- Knowledge transfer to L2 and L3 Engineers on new implementations.
- Collaborate with L2 and L3 teams to tackle network and firewall issues.
- Go‑to resource for L2 and L3 Engineers and peers.
- Act as technical PM by preparing project plans, interacting with other groups, and guiding IT resources as required.
- Keep all documentation (including LAN/WAN/Information‑Security drawings and equipment lists) accurate and up to date.
- Industry watching, both direct or through a third party, to ensure the company is aware and educated on new technologies.
- Participate actively in engineering and architecture solution peer reviews and solution design sessions.
- Vendor and 3rd Party support and critical issues.
- Works independently and exercises reasonable judgment with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities and accomplishments.
- Interacts closely with peers and management across all departments.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Expertise in Network and IP Security implementation, multi‑vendor (Palo / Cisco) IPS, URL filtering.
- Hands on and Design Experience in commercial information security systems such as Palo Alto, and Cisco.
- PCNSA, PCNSE, CCNP (Security) or equivalent experience.
- Information Security and Firewall, and Network related Essential skills:
- Minimum 8 years of Palo Alto AND Cisco firewall and products experience.
Skills:
- 3 - 5 years of Linux systems experience preferred.
- Command line iptables experience preferred.
- Scripting experience (bash, Perl, Python) preferred.
- Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, wireless AP and Controllers, IOS, NXOS, Load balancers, WAN accelerators, Content filters.
- Knowledge of MPLS, OSPF, BGP & Internet Exchange Peering.
- Knowledge of Multicast.
- Knowledge of Network Management.
- Experience in deploying SNMP based monitoring solutions.
