Overview
Allium makes blockchain data accurate, simple and fast. Blockchain data is hard, messy, and chaotic. In late 2021 we believed blockchain data, though public and free, was difficult to understand and access. Answering questions like “Who are the biggest Ethereum token holders over time?” required significant engineering effort to run RPC nodes, ingest history, clean and transform data, and run complex queries.
Accessing data is hard because blockchains are optimized for writes rather than reads. They were built to maximize transaction throughput and fault-tolerant consensus, making data extraction at scale challenging.
Parsing and interpreting blockchain data requires deep domain expertise and data manipulation. Blockchains are not traditional databases; they enable many use cases, which fragments data schemas. Standardizing schemas requires expertise to turn technical outputs into clear information for concepts like tokens, NFTs, stable coins and DEXs.
Allium abstracts the complexity with a simple way to query blockchain data. We ingest, sanitize, and standardize data across 40+ blockchains whose archived data is in the petabytes and growing.
