Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack / Word Press) Wanted at Mission-Driven Science Org

Pay range: $70 – $100 per hour contract role with potential to go fulltime staff

They help power some of the most respected science publications on the internet and need a Senior Software Engineer to help them with feature development, site maintenance, and shaping how Word Press is done at scale—on a classic LAMP stack.

You’ll be helping level up security best practices across a complex ecosystem of public-facing sites, with the opportunity to go fulltime. It’s a good look for 2026. Read on.

• Strong full-stack development experience building content-focused sites on a Word Press CMS
• Strong understanding of Word Press architecture, best practices, and plugins
• Hands‑on experience with Git, version control, and deployment pipelines
• Working knowledge of modern web frameworks (Node.js, React, Angular, Vue)
• Understanding of database design and management (SQL and No

• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Nice to have: experience in cybersecurity or building security best‑practice frameworks in a Word Press‑centric environment

This is a 6‑month temp‑to‑perm opportunity with the real possibility of becoming full‑time.
