Network Engineer - Onsite -Evening​/Night Shift - NYC​/NJ

We are currently seeking a Network Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience. As a Network Engineer, you will be part of a project. This position is onsite in NYC from 4 PM to 12 AM.

Required Skills

Must have hands-on experience with:

• Routing protocols EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP; configuring, troubleshooting, and using typical show commands to research issues.
• Racking and stacking Cisco 2900, 3700, 3600, 3800, 4500, 6500 series switches.
• Upgrading firmware on Cisco switches using tools like TFTP, FTP server, or thumb drives.
• Configuring Cisco switches via command line through console and SSH.
• Working knowledge of Cisco Catalyst linecards, including multi-gig copper and fiber cards, supervisors.
• Deep understanding of Layer 1 concepts, configuration, troubleshooting, and verification commands.
• Working knowledge of Power over Ethernet (PoE), including power verification and budgeting.
• Deep understanding of Layer 2 concepts such as spanning tree, VLAN, MAC address tables, DHCP snooping.
• Deep understanding of Layer 3 concepts including routed ports, SVI, ARP, IPv4 ACLs, ping, trace route.
• Knowledge of first-hop redundancy protocols like HSRP, GLBP, VRRP.
• Understanding of IPv4 addressing, subnetting, and summarization.
• Fiber plant management and troubleshooting, knowledge of multi-mode and single-mode fiber.
• Copper plant management, including installation, termination, and cabling techniques.
• Knowledge of Cisco fiber transceivers and wavelength types.
• Working knowledge of network racks, power distribution units (PDUs), UPS units, console servers, DNS, and DHCP.

Hands-on experience with the following is a plus:

• Cisco Catalyst 6800, 9300, 9400, 9500 series switches.
• Arista EOS 7280, 7504 series switches.
• Spine-leaf architecture.
• VxLAN concepts, EVPN tables.
• Routing protocol redistribution, e.g., EIGRP to BGP.
• CCNA certification is a plus.
