At Sax Advisory Group, LLC we are driven by our ability to turn every client’s dream into a reality. We are a forward‑thinking multi‑disciplinary accounting, tax, and advisory firm serving the needs of closely held companies, family‑owned businesses, not‑for‑profit entities, government, and high‑net‑worth individuals. We are dedicated to providing an environment that offers growth, stability and advancement opportunities, in a team‑member driven culture where contributions are recognized and rewarded.

We have everything you need for a dynamic career!

We are currently seeking a full‑time Senior Associate with a specialization in Operations Diligence & Integration to join our expanding Mergers and Acquisitions team! This position reports directly to the M&A Director and is primarily remote within the U.S., with required travel to acquired offices as needed and occasional in‑person meetings at our New York City and/or Parsippany, NJ (HQ) offices.

SAX is on its way to the Top 50 (Top 0.1%) in the Accounting and Advisory industry and has recent growth capital fueling an accelerated inorganic growth strategy. The goal for the team is to create a streamlined M&A process from seller introduction to integrated firm. Your role is to help focus on the diligence and integration piece, rolling out solutions applicable for any size acquisition across geographies.

The

Mandate

You’ll be the go‑to operator for post‑LOI life. Your week will revolve around setting integration plans and executing post‑close for accounting and wealth‑management acquisitions—refining playbooks, standing up the diligence/integration management tool, tracking progress, and producing crisp reporting that keeps leadership honest. You will assist with your excel modeling skills with seller data for clean integrations into Sax systems, and more. Accounting‑firm operations background preferred but not necessary.

Core

Responsibilities
  • Post‑merger integration planning – Co‑design Day‑1, 30‑day, and 100‑day plans; refresh existing integration playbooks for accounting and wealth‑management targets.
  • Diligence & integration tool ownership – Configure and maintain the platform that houses diligence checklists, work‑streams, owners, automated reminders, and dashboards.
  • Synergy tracking – Develop synergy tracking and reporting tools.
  • Progress tracking & reporting – Build project trackers, status dashboards, and board‑ready updates on milestone completion, synergy capture, and emerging risks.
  • Research – Provide competitive and market research to support target identification, synergy hypotheses, and continuous improvement of integration practices.
  • People & change management – Coordinate comms, training, and performance‑management timelines across Finance, HR, IT, and client‑facing teams to keep business disruption minimal.
  • Internal process improvement – Identify opportunities and assist in implementation of internal process improvements related to M&A and/or day‑to‑day operations.
  • Compliance support – Assist Legal/Risk in preparing required filings, policy updates, and audit documentation.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Business, Economics, or related.
  • 3‑5 years of accounting and wealth‑management operations experience and meaningful M&A exposure (diligence or integration).
  • Demonstrated ability to pick up new technologies quickly and weave AI/automation into workflows; power‑user in Excel/PowerPoint and comfortable adopting modern PM/BI tools.
  • Clear, concise communicator able to extract data from quiet functions and defend it in front of leadership.
