Computer Hardware Maintenance Technician

Overview

We are seeking two experienced Computer Hardware Maintenance Technicians to support a NYC government agency’s IT infrastructure. This role involves on-site preventive and remedial maintenance of a wide range of hardware across HPD locations, including occasional assistance with hardware/software upgrades and relocations.

• On-site preventive maintenance of hardware across HPD locations.
• Remedial maintenance and diagnostics of hardware issues.
• Assist with hardware/software upgrades and relocations as needed.

• Active CompTIA A+ certification
• Minimum 3 years of experience in computer hardware support
• Proven experience with Lexmark
  , HP
  , and multifunction printing devices
• Hands-on knowledge of hardware repairs, component replacement, diagnostics
• Familiarity with Intel-based desktops, laptops, monitors, scanners, and network peripherals (e.g., NICs, switches, routers)
• Must carry a functional mobile phone (provided by the employer) for coordination with IT staff during work hours
• Ability to work within a flexible 8-hour shift and travel between locations

• Experience servicing CISCO network equipment
• Familiarity with procurement processes via platforms like Amazon
  , eBay
  , Price Watch, etc.
• Knowledge of NYC agency IT maintenance protocols and equipment lifecycle support
• Experience managing electronic maintenance records and work order documentation
• Familiarity with government contracting procedures, especially in M/WBE and public-sector environments

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Will be required to pass HPD interviews and background verification
• May be asked to provide a backup technician during absence (with equivalent qualifications)
• Must adhere to HPD's IT security and data protection standards (NIST compliance, etc.)
