The Simulation Technologist works together with faculty educators to create lifelike immersive simulation experiences. The role coordinates, operates, and maintains the technology within the simulation labs and assists with simulation operations.
Salary InformationIn compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $80,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.

Responsibilities & Duties- Collaborate with Adelphi University IT department to deliver seamless integration of simulation with the Adelphi University software systems and the simulation lab. Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues with IT as needed.
- Help conduct simulation activities under the supervision of faculty educators by helping to plan and coordinate simulation activities with faculty including resources and technologies such as moulage, programming, props, wardrobe, set design etc.
- Transform case scenarios into realistic simulated learning environments including set‑up, operate and breakdown of equipment used in clinical simulation experiences, with programming, testing and running scenarios with instructors and facilitators.
- Coordinate and schedule simulation/debrief sessions integrating all technical services within the simulation suite.
- Provide faculty in‑service training on the use of simulation related hardware and software technologies.
- Provide routine simulator, task trainer, computer, and audio/video equipment maintenance including set‑up, programming, operation, and monitoring of simulation software, computers and simulators. Create simulator checklists and preventative logs and plans for simulation equipment.
- Create new and innovative solutions to improve realism of simulation activities including digital videos, cameras, projectors, audio/video mixing, editing software and graphic design software.
- Maintain knowledge and promote best practice of simulation based education.
- Work with simulation system vendor to diagnose and resolve all simulation system issues.
- Coordinate yearly maintenance, repair and necessary replacement of simulation equipment and multimedia peripherals with manufacturer as needed.
- Troubleshoot technical problems that arise with simulators, software, hardware and A/V technologies. Create troubleshooting documentation through the AU Work Order system.
- Install software upgrades and components as directed by manufacturers to maintain equipment functionality.
- Provide tours of the simulation lab and help cover open‑house events by providing technological demonstrations of equipment.
- Recommend, plan and develop innovative ways to maximize efficiency and improve quality of simulation based education and operations within the learning laboratories.
- Provide technical level 1 and level 2 support for the simulation suite and classroom.
- Perform system administration functions such as backup and restores.
- Assist with data entry management.
- Work with simulation team to maintain a clean, safe and optimal learning environment.
- Create and maintain operating procedures documentation.
- Will work on the Manhattan and Garden City Campuses.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
