Tech Lead – Full Stack (React & AWS Serverless) 12 Month Contract Role

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid – 3–4 days on‑site)

Our client in the financial sector is seeking a hands‑on Tech Lead to drive the technical delivery of a high‑impact internal platform for one of the world’s leading private equity firms. This is a strategic initiative focused on rapid design‑build sprints, delivering modular dashboards and workflows that scale across multiple asset classes.

You’ll lead a globally distributed engineering team, partnering closely with product managers, designers, and senior client stakeholders. Based in New York, this hybrid role combines deep technical ownership with visible leadership and influence.

• Lead the design and development of modular micro‑apps using React
  , supported by Node.js and Python services
• Architect, build, and own backend services leveraging AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway)
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate complex business requirements into scalable, high‑quality solutions
• Define and enforce engineering best practices across code quality, testing, CI/CD, and deployment
• Mentor and guide a distributed engineering team through code reviews, technical direction, and onboarding
• Identify and build reusable frontend and backend components, contributing to a scalable design‑build library
• Maintain high delivery velocity while ensuring reliable, secure infrastructure integration
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for client engineering and technology stakeholders

• 6+ years’ experience in full‑stack development (React, Node.js and/or Python)
• Proven experience leading technical delivery across distributed or global teams
• Strong expertise in AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, Fargate, API Gateway)
• Solid understanding of containerised development, CI/CD pipelines, and platform‑level routing
• Ability to simplify technical complexity and provide clear, actionable direction
• Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with senior and executive stakeholders
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills

• Experience building enterprise, SaaS, or financial platforms
• Exposure to design systems or shared component libraries
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, SSO, JWT authentication
  , and modern authorization patterns
• Work on a high‑visibility platform for a top‑tier global private equity firm
• Combine hands‑on engineering with genuine technical leadership
• Shape scalable architecture used across multiple business units
