SUNY Empire is seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Application Support and Integration Analyst to join our Information Technology team. This position involves integrating new third‑party applications with existing applications, including our student information system, which is currently Banner. It also provides critical support for the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our enterprise systems, including Banner, Banner Document Management, Argos, and Laserfiche.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Automate or lead the automation of processes, creating third‑party system integrations.
- Provide system administration and break/fix support for enterprise systems, including Banner, Banner Document Management, Argos, and Laserfiche.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new tools, integrations, and system enhancements.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot application performance and system availability.
- Support Oracle SQL programs, PL/SQL scripts and some Linux server issues.
- Perform user account management, permissions updates, and workflow configurations across supported systems.
- Plan, test, and implement system patching in alignment with IT best practices.
- Coordinate and execute updates, fixes, and upgrades within defined maintenance windows.
- Follow established change management procedures to ensure stability, documentation, and communication of system changes.
- Diagnose and resolve problems in the maintenance and support of administrative applications.
- Maintain technical documentation, including system configuration, processes, and reporting standards.
- Provide training and end‑user support to staff and faculty as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years’ applicable programming experience; OR a minimum of 5 years’ applicable programming experience.
- Experience building and utilizing API integrations and RESTful web services.
- Hands‑on experience administering enterprise systems such as Banner, Argos, Laserfiche, or comparable platforms.
- Experience in writing queries and programs in Oracle SQL/SQL environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills for both application and system‑level issues.
- Experience in report writing and data analysis (Argos or similar reporting tools).
- Experience with system patching and change management practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Prior experience in a higher education IT environment.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix, cron jobs, cPanel.
- Experience programming in Banner, Banner Workflow.
- Knowledge of Ellucian Ethos and Ellucian Experience.
- Understand JavaScript, PHP, React
JS, Python. - Familiarity with Ellucian Banner administration and document management solutions.
- Experience with ITIL or similar frameworks for IT service management.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
- Periodic travel may be required to fulfill department and university‑wide commitments.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. VISA sponsorship is not available for this position.

Rank/Salary: Programmer‑Analyst, SL2 / $60,000‑$65,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
