Overview

Welcome to Warner Bros. Discovery. The Vice President of Data Strategy and Data Governance will be a key executive responsible for developing and executing the long-term enterprise data strategy and leading the organization’s data governance initiatives. This role will drive the company’s transformation by ensuring data and AI are central to business decisions and processes. The VP will work closely with business leaders to identify critical business decisions and shape data-driven strategies that empower the organization to achieve its objectives.

They will also oversee enterprise-wide data governance to ensure data quality, privacy, compliance, and alignment with business goals. The leader will champion the use of data and AI to drive business transformations, establishing and maintaining robust data governance frameworks that promote data security, quality, and accessibility at scale.

Cross-functional collaboration is essential to ensure data is treated as a strategic asset and integrated into the broader organizational transformation initiatives. This role will act as a central point of contact for all data-related matters across the enterprise, advising leadership and stakeholders on strategic data decisions and emerging data trends and technologies.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term enterprise data strategy aligned with business objectives, focusing on driving actionable, data-driven decision-making across all functions.
• Identify key business areas where data can unlock opportunities or optimize performance, ensuring data strategy is central to business goals and priorities.
• Collaborate with business leaders to define critical decisions to drive through data-driven insights and create actionable plans to support these decisions through data strategy and analytics.
• Drive business transformations by leveraging data and AI to optimize processes, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate innovation.
• Work with senior leadership to integrate the data strategy with broader organizational transformation initiatives, ensuring data becomes a core part of decision-making at all levels.

• Lead the embedding of AI and data-driven approaches into key business functions (marketing, sales, operations, finance, product development) to unlock new revenue streams, improve customer experiences, and streamline internal processes.
• Partner with technology, product, and analytics teams to ensure AI and data initiatives align with the overall business strategy.
• Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization, ensuring data and insights shape strategy and operational decisions.

• Establish and lead a robust data governance program and operating model that ensures data across the enterprise is accurate, consistent, and securely managed in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Define and implement data governance policies and best practices, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws, security standards, and ethical AI practices.
• Drive compliance and sponsorship of data governance efforts by working with business leaders and enterprise data owners.
• Oversee data quality management efforts, ensuring tools and processes to measure, manage, and improve data quality across all systems.
• Ensure the creation and enforcement of data stewardship roles to maintain data properly, including validation and leveraging across business functions.
• Develop a data governance framework that includes data privacy, security, and compliance with a focus on minimizing risk and ensuring business continuity.

• Work with technology, analytics, product, and business teams to ensure alignment on data strategy, objectives, and priorities.
• Foster a data-centric culture by promoting the value of data and ensuring collaboration between data teams and business units.
