Head of Developer Relations
Join Interfere (YC S25) as Head of Developer Relations. Interfere builds a self‑healing layer for the internet, detecting issues, diagnosing root causes, and shipping fixes before anyone notices something’s broken.
Base Pay$120,000–$150,000 per year.
Job OverviewYou’ll shape Interfere’s developer ecosystem, building deep trust with developers and technical leaders and turning that trust into a community that influences the product. The role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, design, and storytelling.
Responsibilities- Depth over breadth – build authentic community, not performative engagement.
- Boundless empathy – understand how developers think, build, and debug; translate complexity without dilution.
- Craft at velocity – high‑quality writing, talks, demos, and resources shipped quickly without sacrificing clarity or depth.
- High standards win – question everything, rebuild from scratch when needed, never accept “good enough.”
- Ownership without borders – domain is whatever needs doing to make Interfere exceptional. No excuses.
- What you’ll build: developer community that trusts Interfere; clear narratives around self‑healing software; documentation, guides, demos; feedback loops between users, community, and core engineering; developer education through talks, workshops, writing, events; strategic presence on Git Hub, Discord/Slack, conferences, and technical media; early champions who shape roadmap.
- Immense pride in work and desire to build best products.
- Experience in community, product, and adoption ecosystems.
- Relentless learners who dive into unfamiliar domains.
- Clear communicators who make hard ideas inevitable.
- Deep technical credibility; worked closely with engineers or one yourself.
- Developer relations, marketing, or technical community leadership experience.
- Background in developer tools, infrastructure, observability, or AI platforms.
- Strong technical writing or public speaking track record.
- Experience building early‑stage developer communities from zero to critical mass.
- Open source contributions, talks, blogs, or other proof of exceptional work.
- Founding team equity and competitive compensation.
- Complete ownership of meaningful work.
- Health, dental, and vision coverage.
- Visa sponsorship for exceptional international candidates.
- Opportunity to define how AI rebuilds software reliability.
We’re based in New York City. Proximity accelerates everything, but we gladly help you relocate.
Application ProcessSend us evidence of exceptional work you’ve shipped—writing, talks, communities you’ve built, developer products you’ve supported—and a note about why Interfere resonates with you.
