The role in a nutshellWe are looking for a Security Engineer with an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of cybersecurity methodologies to join our growing security team. Cyber security engineers are expected to have meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem‑solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on tight deadlines.
To be successful in this role, the security engineer must display an excellent understanding of technology infrastructures such as Firewalls, VPN, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, Web‑Proxy and experience in one or more security domains: application security, cloud security, vulnerability management, SIEM, endpoint security, and/or incident detection and response. Top candidates will be comfortable working with a variety of technologies, security problems, troubleshooting of the network and have experience performing security audits or assessments.

Core responsibilities- Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization’s data, systems, and networks across a range of technologies.
- Troubleshooting security and network problems.
- Responding to system and/or network security breaches.
- Ensuring that the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls, identifying and remediating control gaps.
- Testing and identifying network and system vulnerabilities.
- Participating in the change management process.
- Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.
- Stay up‑to‑date on information technology trends and security standards.
- A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
- 2+ years of work experience with one or more of application security, cloud security, firewalls, vulnerability management, proxies, SIEM, endpoint security, and/or incident detection and response.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working with application security tools including SAST, DAST.
- Proficiency in writing infrastructure as code (IaC) in Terraform and/or Bicep.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, Java, Ruby, Node, Go, and/or Power Shell.
The base pay range for this position in New York is $130,000 – $170,000 annually. Pay may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity and year‑end bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
