IT Support Specialist NYS Executive Chamber

Location:

New York, NY Salary Band: $65,000-$80,000

The IT Support Specialist will work in a team environment, providing IT support for the Executive Chamber. The incumbent will have the opportunity to be exposed to and take on other assignments in addition to the primary support role.

Primary duties include:
  • Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting desktop PCs and laptops.
  • Utilize network and server administrative tools to accomplish system tasks/ monitoring of Azure AD accounts, O365 accounts, MDM configurations, and policies.
  • Install network printers, peripherals, and other appliances. User account setup and maintenance. Monitor, diagnose, and resolve operating system problems.
  • Assist with PC imaging and maintenance.
  • Instruct, support, and train end users on network usage.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field. An Associate's in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field, and a minimum of two years of systems administration work experience may be substituted. Additional related work experience or job-related certifications may substitute for educational experience.

In addition, the following knowledge, skills, and abilities are strongly preferred:
  • Windows Server OS experience: server virtualization, Windows Active Directory, backup administration and maintenance, computer imaging and deployment
  • Cisco VOIP phone configuration or similar experience.
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering current Windows Server 2012 - 2022 and Desktop Operating Systems - Windows 10/11.
  • Experience with conferencing support (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Web Ex). Experience with virtual platforms (e.g., VMware) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing with a preference for Azure AD and Office 365.

Successful candidates will be self-motivated and proactive, understand user needs, identify root causes of problems, and implement pragmatic solutions. Strong analytical skills and decision-making ability, willingness to work in a team environment, and solid organizational and time management skills are necessary for success in this role.
