Application Development Manager - Investment Tech

Vichara is a Financial Services focused products and services firm headquartered in NY and building systems for some of the largest i-banks and hedge funds in the world.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of developers building applications for finance, trading, research, and risk.

Partner with finance, operations, and compliance stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

Oversee architecture, code quality, and system performance; enforce SDLC best practices.

Drive modernization initiatives, including microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization.

Manage delivery roadmaps, priorities, and vendor/third-party integrations.

Ensure compliance, audit-readiness, and secure coding practices.

Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

10+ years in software/application development within financial services.

5+ years in leadership roles managing development teams.

Technical Skills:

Strong SQL Server background; relational modeling, optimization.

Experience with Azure Fabric and Power BI

Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

Familiarity with CI/CD (Git, Jenkins/Team City, Octopus) and Agile tools (Jira, Confluence).

Domain Knowledge: Exposure to front-office finance systems, trading tools, mortgage/ABS/MSR workflows

Exposure to platforms like Oracle Fusion / Oracle Financials

Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making ability; able to engage across technical and business teams.
