Overview:The Manager, Network & Telecommunications provides leadership and oversight of IT network systems and telephony. This role is responsible for assisting with the delivery and management of reliable IT systems for technology services within the organization, ensuring that service levels for performance, availability and support are achieved through the internal IT systems team or external service providers.
Responsibilities :
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the organization's IT infrastructure, including networks, routers, switches, firewalls, vpn, LAN/WANMAN, servers, storage, and related security systems, ensuring optimal performance, stability, and security while aligning with business needs, leading teams, and driving strategic technology.
- Assist in the development and execution of long-term IT infrastructure strategy, aligning with business goals and future technological trends. Participate in IT Infrastructure budgeting
- Evaluate new technologies and vendor solutions to identify opportunities for optimization and cost-efficiency.
- Create planning for infrastructure upgrades and modernization projects.
- Leading the resolution of complex network issues, performing root cause analysis, and preventing recurrences.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability and performance.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and support enterprise data centers, inclusive of server backups, ensuring backup policies are in compliance.
- Manage team of IT infrastructure engineers and technicians, delegate tasks/projects and performance expectations.
- Manage servers farm that includes physical, virtual servers, and virtual server clusters (Hyper-V).
- Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including domain controllers, file, print, databases and their associated operating systems and software.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data and systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with hardware and software vendors.
- Ensure vendor performance aligns with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Optimize resource utilization and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Patch Management – responsible for making sure all servers are patch on a timely basis.
- Manage the teams’ Change Management work according to the CM program.
- Maintain organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by executing strategic plans for information technologies.
- Oversee the maintenance of administrator accounts, permissions, and access rights in AD.
- Oversee the server and network IT asset management inclusive of annual asset inventory and associated documentation.
- Participate, plan, and perform disaster recovery for critical business applications, systems, and services.
