Senior Network​/Infrastructure Engineer

Prop Trading firm client is looking for a Senior Network and Infrastructure Engineer to manage and optimize their multi-site infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in network and system administration, particularly within a Linux (RHEL) and C++ environment, and will be responsible for the entire network stack, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across their diverse infrastructure.

Network Management and Configuration:

• Manage and optimize Mikrotik devices for routing, switching, and firewall operations.
• Implement and manage Wire Guard for internal site connectivity and IPSec for external provider and AWS connections.
• Develop and maintain redundant/mesh routing to ensure high availability and resilience, particularly given the unreliability of certain connections (e.g., TNS and NY office internet).

System Administration:

• Oversee Windows Server environments for LDAP and DNS.
• Manage and optimize Proxmox compute clusters and Ceph storage solutions.
• Handle the migration of hundreds of TB from XFS pools with NFS mounts to Ceph pools.

Database and Replication:

• Implement and maintain SQL replication/clustering for MySQL/MariaDB and Click House.
• Set up and manage Git georeplication to ensure resilience against datacenter outages.

Hardware and Storage:

• Maintain and troubleshoot physical servers at financial sites hosted by TNS, and AWS servers used for trading crypto.
• Optimize storage solutions and assist in migrating data to more efficient storage pools.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

• Utilize monitoring tools to keep track of network, hardware, and OS performance.
• Debug and resolve issues in network communications, particularly addressing ZMQ messaging loss and transitioning to bespoke multicast/messaging solutions.
• Optimize settings and apply best practices for MySQL/MariaDB and Click House databases.

• Proven experience in managing and optimizing networks, particularly with Mikrotik devices.
• Strong expertise in Linux (RHEL) administration and C++.
• Proficiency in using Windows Server for LDAP and DNS.
• Experience with Proxmox, Ceph, and Dell hardware.
• Knowledge of Wire Guard, IPSec, and other VPN technologies.
• Familiarity with SQL replication, clustering, and database optimization (MySQL/MariaDB, Click House).
• Experience with storage solutions and data migration (XFS, NFS, Ceph).
• Understanding of network protocols and messaging systems (ZMQ, multicast).
• Experience with Solarflare for KBP on trading servers is a plus.
• Ability to implement dual WAN with failover.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a remote team.

• Familiarity with financial trading environments and the specific network requirements they entail.
• Experience with AWS and managing hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of monitoring and debugging tools for networks and systems.
