GENERAL PURPOSE
The Business Analyst is an IT functional systems analyst and internal consultant working to improve business capabilities by facilitating the implementation of process and system improvements. They will work in a highly collaborative setting of internal and external staff, and with key business partners in the support of existing production systems and in the execution of new system projects. Serves as a functional and/or technical expert in one or more disciplines.
The base salary range for this role is $84,700 to $136,150. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Perform business analysis activities at the strategic, operational, and organizational level; work with key users in the continual improvement of business processes
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT, and cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear requirements, user stories, functional designs, and acceptance criteria
- Analyze business processes, system capabilities, user experience, and data to identify gaps, root causes, risks, and recommended solutions
- Support projects from requirements through implementation, including testing, defect resolution, documentation, training, and post-launch support
- Proactively manage assigned deliverables and communicate project status, timelines, risks, dependencies, and issues to Project Managers and key stakeholders
- Support production systems by partnering with IT and business users to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, test solutions, and drive timely resolution
- Develop and maintain process, system, and user documentation to ensure accuracy and support effective adoption
- Support change management efforts by assessing impacts, preparing users for changes, and ensuring appropriate communication and training

- 3 - 5 years of experience supporting IT systems, processes, or capabilities. General understanding of IT processes and dynamics within a complex, highly integrated environment
- A solid understanding of industry best practices in retail or IT; specific demonstrated experience mapping business processes and comparing those processes to industry best practices
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and root cause analysis skills
- Understanding of application development and software development lifecycle concepts
- Good written and verbal communication skills are crucial for working with all stakeholders (i.e. Use Case and User Story Development)
- Preferred experience with Agile (SaFe, Scrum) project methodologies
- Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience
- Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc
