Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York
Referment is working with a global investment and technology firm to find a product manager for the data infrastructure behind its people analytics. You will connect human-capital, analytics and engineering teams, shaping secure data products that support reporting, business intelligence and new generative-AI use cases.
This is a technical product role with meaningful depth across schemas, ETL, APIs and delivery. You will translate stakeholder needs into precise requirements, anticipate edge cases and stay involved through development, testing, rollout and operational support.
The Role- Design ETL transformations and data models that turn business needs into reliable, scalable datasets.
- Shape an API layer that centralises business logic, permissions and consistent contracts for downstream consumers.
- Develop product direction for natural-language querying, semantic search and agentic workflows over structured and unstructured data.
- Partner with reporting specialists, developers and data scientists to define technical solutions and detailed requirements.
- Manage the backlog, sprint planning, stakeholder relationships and rollout of changes across the data platform.
- Four to eight years of relevant product-management experience, including data or analytics products.
- Strong Excel, SQL and Python skills, plus experience with data engineers, data scientists and software developers.
- Working knowledge of ETL, business-intelligence infrastructure, APIs and data modelling.
- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly, own delivery and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Generative-AI infrastructure experience, including vector databases, RAG or semantic search, is useful but not essential.
This could suit a data product manager who is comfortable working close to architecture and engineering while remaining accountable for stakeholder outcomes.
